Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Sri Amritsar Sahib, the apex body of the Sikhs, with the primary objective of inculcating high ethical values, humanistic outlook, healthy habits and scientific temper among the community, has opened various educational institutions. SGPC which strives for excellence aims at producing not only successful professionals, managers and entrepreneurs but also responsible human beings who care for core human values and ethics. The major contribution of S.G.P.C. lies in providing school and college education accessible to common and needy people in remote and rural areas of Punjab and other states of India. In this direction, an endeavour of SGPC has been the opening of Bibi Sharan Kaur Khalsa College in the historical town of Sri Chamkaur Sahib to commemorate the supreme martyrdom of Bibi Sharan Kaur who holds immense relevance in the Sikh history in the cremation of the two elder Sahibzadas and Sikh martyrs during the historic fight of Mughals and the Sikh army on the sacred land of Sri Chamkaur Sahib. The college is committed to the students as it pledges to provide quality education as well as personality development by grooming students’ talent and leadership qualities, skill development along with imparting ethical values. The highly qualified faculty is dedicated to help students achieve their educational goals. The college is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala and Punjab School Education Board, Mohali and is running successfully courses in the streams of Humanities, Science, Commerce and Agriculture.
