NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) is a joint initiative of IITs and IISc, offering online courses and certification, with a committee structure to manage and oversee its operations, including local chapters at participating institutions.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMITTEE:

To promote self-learning through online courses.

To fill the curriculum gaps through online courses.

Inform to the students and faculty about the course information such as SWAYAM, NPTEL, Coursera, edX, FutureLearn, Udacity, Spoken Tutorial, Sololearn etc.

A Mentor would be assigned to each MOOC course. The mentor will discuss on various course topics.

Inform the SWAYAM/NPTEL/MOOCs Timeline and Examination Dates.

SPOC recommends scholarship to deserving candidates.

To recommend Incentives for Faculty for successful completion of NPTEL online courses.
